The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company Train Garden will be opening on Saturday December 2, 2017. The Train Garden will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm thru in December. Hours are Noon - 3 on Christmas and New Year's Eves. This year, there are new scenes. And - as always - there is no cost. Entry and parking are on the rear lower level of the fire station.

OPEN HOUSE with SANTA Come visit Santa at the Fire Station! The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company will be holding our annual Santa Open House on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the fire station, 702 North Main Street. Fire prevention and safety information will be available. Refreshments will also be provided. And while you are here, visit our Train Garden on the lower level. Bring your camera.

The CavMusic 5K and Fun Run takes participants through the rolling hills, fields and tree lined course of the beautiful Linganore Winery. Live music around every corner by South Carroll High School’s own band and orchestra. Challenges for the accomplished runner and plenty of fun for the recreational minded as well. There is also a virtual run option for folks who don't care to run but would like to contribute. 5K runners will receive a t-shirt, wine glass, two free tastings and awards. Fun runners will receive a t-shirt and two free tastings. Virtual runners will receive the satisfaction of donating to the South Carroll Instrumental program. Race starts at 9:00am with check-in at 7:30am. Proceeds benefit South Carroll High School Instrumental Music Program. This is a 30 minute sneek peek at the ballet. Giselle is a romantic ballet in two acts. The ballet is about a peasant girl named Giselle and her mother Berthe, who both die of broken hearts. Giselle after discovering her fiance is betrothed to the Baroness, and Berthe when her daughter dies. The Wilis, a group of supernatural women who dance men to death, summon Giselle and her mother from the grave. The Wilis and Berthe target Giselle's lover for death, but Giselle's great love tries to free him from their grasp. Will the Queen of the Wilis and Berthe get revenge for all women scorned?
