NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON

PROPOSED DRAFT MASTER PLAN

On September 23, 2014, the Town Council of the Town of Mount Airy will hold a public hearing at the Mount Airy Firemen’s Activities Building, 1008 Twin Arch Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 beginning at 7:00 p.m. regarding the proposed draft comprehensive or “master” plan for the Town as recommended to the Town Council for adoption by the Town Planning Commission. The proposed draft master plan contains several parts that set forth proposed rezoning of properties, properties outside the Town that may be candidates for annexation, proposed additions or changes to development regulations, designation of environmentally sensitive areas, desired patterns for transportation, and plans for future and current water resources. The proposed draft master plan recommends a vision for growth and development for the Town. By statute, a municipality is to adopt a master plan every ten years. A full copy of the proposed draft master plan is available for review at Town Hall during normal business hours.
