SEPTEMBER SONG MUSICAL THEATRE ANNOUNCES NEW SHOW FOR 2015 SEASON
Everyone’s favorite practically perfect nanny takes the stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure.
September Song Musical Theatre is excited to announce the full Broadway version of Disney’s “MARY POPPINS” as their 2015 season presentation! We are also thrilled about presenting this amazingly breathtaking musical at a new location this year. We will be presenting five performances of “MARY POPPINS” at the new and beautiful theatre facility at South Carroll High School, which seats over 800 patrons and can be reached easily from Westminster, Eldersburg, and Sykesville, as well as Owings Mills and Columbia, Md.
One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven TONY Awards, including Best Musical.
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”
Come along on a magical journey with the Banks children as they learn to behave from the most unusual and wonderful nanny that was ever created. Enjoy unforgettable and sing-along classics such as “A Spoonful of Sugar”, “I Love to Laugh”, “Chim-Chim- Cheree”, “Let’s Go Fly a Kite”, “Feed the Birds”, and “Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious”.
See exciting choreography by a talented cast of adults, teens, and children, and watch long-beloved characters come to life before your very eyes. “MARY POPPINS” is a wonderful ticket to a great evening or matinee with September Song Musical Theatre, a mainstay of quality musical theatre in Carroll County and surrounding areas for forty years. We invite you to gather family and friends to come to the beautiful new theatre at South Carroll High School this August and truly experience the pure magic of live theatre.
