NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON

AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 112

OF THE TOWN CODE ENTITLED “ZONING”,

ARTICLE II ENTITLED “GENERAL REGULATIONS”,

SECTION 112-12 ENTITLED “PROHIBITED USES”

On March 6, 2017, the Town Council of the Town of Mount Airy will hold a public hearing at Town Hall, 110 South Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 beginning at 7:00 p.m. regarding a proposed amendment to the aforementioned Section of Chapter 112 of the Town Code entitled “Zoning” for the purpose of restricting the selling, by way of internet, arms length or mail order transactions, of alcohol, tobacco or fire arms, if otherwise permitted as a use of right or special exception, to the Downtown Zone, Limited Commercial, Community Commercial and Industrial Districts, but prohibiting such activity in all other zoning districts. A full copy of the proposed changes, Ordinance No. 2016-27, is available for review at Town Hall during normal business hours.
