Members of the American Legion Gold Star Post 191, Auxiliary Unit, and SAL Squadron will hold their annual Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. Monday at the Pine Grove Chapel, Main Street, Mount Airy. The service is to honor local residents killed in the 9/11 attacks as well as all of those who served and perished in defense of this country. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to arrive early and bring water and a chair. Immediately following the ceremony, Post 191 is hosting a light lunch at the American Legion Post 191 on Prospect Road.
