  1. Art Gallery

    February 11, 2019, All Day @ Town Hall

    An Art Gallery will open in Town Hall on Saturday, January 12th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with an opening concert by the jazz duo, Stolen Moments. Light refreshments will be provided. The Gallery will remain open during Town Hall normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Art featured by Katherine L. Peterson and Steve D'Amato. Katherine is an artist specializing in illustration and portraiture. She studied at Corcoran School of Art, the National Portrait Gallery and holds a Bachelors in Fine Art from Maryland Institute College of Art. Steve has been painting for about 45 years. Many painting techniques were learned from an art teacher in a small group setting many years ago. More recently, I have been broadening my skills at The Stone Branch School of Art in Rockville, Maryland during the winter months.

  1. If I Were Mayor Essay Contest for Fourth Graders

    February 7, 2019 - March 30, 2019

    The Mayor will be visiting the elementary schools in Mount Airy that house our Fourth graders. A presentation will be given at that time informing students of their opportunity to write an essay of 275 words or less to enter in the "If I Were Mayor" contest. Prizes this year include $100 cash, a Governor's Citation and a Boat cruise of Annapolis on the Harbor Queen!
