The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers Market will move to its new home in the municipal parking lot starting June 7, 2017 3 -7 PM.

The market will now be in the far corner of the Mount Airy municipal parking lot along Park Avenue at the entrance of Cross Street. The new location is one block from its previous home behind the old train station.

The old train station has limited parking, and the surface of the lot needs to be redone in order to be safe for seniors and people with disabilities, said market manager Alice Settle-Raskin.

"We hope it’s a temporary move, but we would accept it as permanent if need be," Settle-Raskin said.

All the vendors plan to move with the market, she said.

The Mount Airy Main Street Farmers Market meets each Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. The 2017 season started on May 17 and will continue through September.
