[ARCHIVED] If You See Something Say Something

MSPSHIELD

If you see Something Say Something…  The Maryland State Police Resident Troopers are still responsible for and providing the Town of Mount Airy with all Law Enforcement services. If you witness suspicious or criminal activity, Town code violations, or something that you are not quite sure of, call 911. In the case of a non-emergency, call the MSP Resident Trooper Office at 301-829-0218. If no one is in the office, your call will be forwarded to the Westminster Barrack for dispatch to the Resident Troopers. Effective October 1, 2017 those services will transition to the Mount Airy Police Department at which time the community will have an updated phone number to contact MAPD directly.

Recently, we have seen several posts related to the above. For example, solicitors where in Nottingham and other parts of town. Soliciting without a permit is a violation of Town Code. Many people are taking the time to post it on Facebook but calls are not being made to alert the appropriate authorities in order to investigate/abate the problem. Facebook is a great tool to push out information to neighbors, friends, and families however; it was never intended to be a platform to report criminal activity to Law Enforcement. If you see something…. Make the call. MSP and MAPD stand ready to protect and serve our community.
