I love the daily interaction I have with the citizens of Mount Airy and am dedicated to having our staff look into every concern brought to my attention. When emails or phone messages are left directly to me as Mayor, it creates a lag time since I have to then relay the details to the Town Administrator who then distributes the assignment to staff. This chain often creates lag time in providing an answer. I would like the answers to inquiries to be as timely as possible and want you to know that we are working to get you the desired information quickly and accurately.
Therefore, I have tasked the Town Staff to be ready to take requests, concerns, complaints or just informational inquiries directly from citizens and strive for a response within the work week, even if just an acknowledgement of receipt of the request. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. You can help us, help you in a timelier manner by contacting the specific Department’s staff (see the quick reference chart below) or funneling your questions through the Town Hall direct phone number (301-829-1424) which will then be directed to the appropriate Department.
It is my belief that this will better serve you the citizen by going directly to the source of the eventual answer. Of course, I am available to the citizens of Mount Airy, but I see this as an improved means to meet your needs by streamlining the process.
