  4. Understanding Our Environmental Legacy III

    April 25, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ St. James Episcopal Church

    The community is invited to participate in a series of free presentations that focus on raising awareness of the natural world around us. From discussions on citizen science to citizen participation, we will look at how we can all help decrease our food waste, compost our organic waste, marvel at the amazing diversity of the natural world in Maryland, find out if we are at risk for new diseases entering the United States during these times of environmental changes and finally we will discuss climate change; how do we know this is happening and what we can do about it? “Understanding Our Environmental Legacy III” will be offered the four Wednesdays of April at 7 pm at St. James Episcopal Church in Mt. Airy as a part of our environmental stewardship. Each presentation will be conducted by professionals in our community who are giving of their time and expertise. Question and answer period will follow each program. Light refreshments will be offered.

    This 2000 Tony Award winner for Best Musical features three acts of dance, each in different settings and styles but all related to human relationships and connections. Story: The first act shows two men vying for the love of one woman in a French forest clearing sometime during the 18th century; the second act shows a woman fantasizing about escaping her verbally abusive husband while they sit in an Italian restaurant in 1950s New York; the third act shows a lonely Manhattan man enamored with and building up courage to approach a beautiful woman in a yellow dress.
