Kaycee has been twirling since she was 3 years old beginning with a Frederick County Rec class then began training with the Wheaton Dance Twirl Team (who her mom also twirled with growing up). Her coaches are Ann Kennedy, who also is the University of MD dance team coach and Juli Duda. Kaycee is a part of a team of about 45 girls who compete in team and individual events on a local, state, regional and national level. A select group of elite individual and team members also compete on an international level.
During the school year, Kaycee practices about 5-6 days a week around Montgomery, Frederick, and Carroll Counties.
Kaycee has won many state and regional events starting at age 5. She won a National title at the age of 6.
Every year Kaycee and her team head to The University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN in July for the America's Youth on Parade- the National Baton Twirling Association's National Championships. This year, two weeks ago, Kaycee won two prestigious titles for the advanced 7-9 age division!
She is the 2017 **Juvenile Miss Majorette of America and Juvenile Grand National Twirling Champion!**
This year was also a "World Qualifying Year" for Advanced competitors from the juvenile, preteen, junior and senior age levels. The top 3 Competitors in 4 different events are selected to represent the USA at the 2018 World Championships to be held in Lillehammer, Norway in April.
Kaycee was selected as the gold medal winner in all four individual events. She is super excited to represent the USA at her first international competition.
