Planning Commission Seeks Community Input

As part of the implementation of the 2013 Comprehensive Master Plan Update, the Planning Commission has been working over the past two years on Mixed Use Development Zoning regulations that will allow for land use development scenarios that include both residential and non-residential uses on the same parcel of land.  The primary goal of the Planning Commission with respect to this initiative was to allow the opportunity for creative land use development scenarios that would be complementary to the existing character of the Town on properties deemed suitable for Mixed Use Development.  The draft ordinance proposes the creation and adoption of a new zoning classification referred to as the MXD Zone.

Prior to making a recommendation to the Town Council in consideration of this new zoning classification, public input is being sought.  If you wish to provide comment prior to the Planning Commission prior to their forwarding of the MXD Zoning Ordinance to the Town Council for consideration, please forward comments to Heather Smith at on or before July 24, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.  All comments will be forwarded to the Planning Commission to take under advisement.

Please note that the above request does not take place of the formal public hearings that will be scheduled and held by the Town Council once the ordinance has been forwarded for consideration.

Thank you for your interest!
